Why should you take this course?

Contracts are the heart of corporate work and litigation. The business transactions related to investment, creation of companies, banking and finance transactions, capital markets work, project and infrastructure work are based on contracts. This Course would be beneficial for those who are interested to work with law firms or as in-house counsels.

Objective of the Course

The Course is designed to acquaint the students with the conceptual and operational parameters of various general principles relating to contract law, understand the implications of breach, learn drafting of various contracts, learn about the court procedure to assist your client better, develop skills of legal analysis and argument, and be industry ready. This would also benefit the final year students who are looking for their internships to be converted to PPOs.

Course Instructor

Dr. Astha Mehta

Dr. Astha Mehta has secured her B.A.LL.B. (Hons) from the prestigious NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Subsequently, she pursued her LL.M. in Business Law from Amity Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Amity University where she was awarded a Gold Medal. She has completed her doctorate in the area of Limited Liability Partnerships wherein she has done a comparative analysis between India and Singapore. She has an experience of eight years in academics and two years in Corporate and litigation. Apart from specializing in designing innovative curriculum that accommodates multiple intelligences and reaches all learning styles. Contract law and Competition Law are her forte. She has been working with Sushant University as an Assistant Professor for more than 7 years now. She is deeply involved in facilitating internships and recruitment for students across top notch law firms and MNCs in the country, being the Coordinator for Internship & Recruitment Committee (IRC) at SU. She is the Programme Director for LL.B. (Hons) and the Chairperson of the Examination Committee. She is also the founder of Arbitration and Mediation Skills Centre (AMSC). She is in charge of international collaborations and outreach. She is also the Centre Head of Harvard Business School Online (HBSO) Courses at Sushant University. She has a couple of research articles to her credit published in National and International Journals and paper presentations at various Conferences and Seminars. She was also invited to train the Judges and Advocates of the High Court and District Courts in Manipur on Mediation Skills. She has been actively taking workshops on client counselling. She is a member of Indian National Association of Legal Professionals (INALP) and on the Advisory Board for Legality Viability and Legge Rhythms.
